If you did not appear for immigration court, you may already have a removal order — even if no one told you.
Do not guess. Do not assume. Read this carefully.
If you miss a scheduled immigration court hearing:
• The judge can issue an in absentia removal order
• That order can exist even if you never received notice
• ICE may act on it at any time
• Future applications can be blocked
Many people discover years later that an order was entered against them.
You must determine:
✔ Was a removal order issued?
✔ Was notice properly served?
✔ Are you within a deadline to reopen?
✔ Did you move and fail to update your address?
✔ Is there an approved petition (I-130 / VAWA / etc.) that changes your options?
Every answer changes the legal path.
Guessing can permanently damage your case.
Do not:
• Ignore the situation
• File random forms
• Travel outside the U.S.
• Sign documents without understanding them
• Assume “no news means no problem”
Silence from the court does not mean safety.
But it does mean your procedural posture must be reviewed immediately.
Your options may include:
• Motion to Reopen
• Motion to Reopen & Terminate
• Adjustment of Status
• Recalendaring
• Other procedural relief
But only if legally available.
Submit:
• Your A-number (if available)
• Copies of any court notices
• Any prior filing receipts
• Your immigration history
You will receive a written procedural evaluation addressing:
• Whether a removal order exists
• Whether reopening is legally viable
• Deadline analysis
• Whether termination is possible
• Whether adjustment is available
Written analysis only.
No phone call required.
Flat fee.
Download a checklist that helps you:
• Confirm court history
• Verify service of notice
• Identify filing deadlines
• Avoid common fatal mistakes
Someone you know may not realize they already have a removal order.
